Transportation: Idaho’s transportation is a vital piece of this state’s economy. One of the best ways to promote Idaho’s economy and our quality of life is through safe and efficient roads. None of us like congestion or unsafe roads. We must plan now for the future.
Education: Our children’s future relies on quality educational opportunities and choices, such as home schooling and other innovative methods. We must provide quality educational choices in a quality environment so that our children and grandchildren can succeed. We must all work together to enhance our public schools so that Idaho’s students can compete favourably with their piers throughout the world.
Private Property Rights: I am a lifelong supporter of private property rights. Ownership is one of the cornerstones of our form of government and sets us apart from most of the world. These rights should always be guarded and fought for. High property taxes are a danger to our homes.
Second Ammendment Rights: I believe that the Constitution protects the individual's right to bear arms for the protection of life, liberty and property. The second amendment is not just about group rights related to a militia. I support the right of citizens to obtain a concealed weapon permit and to use it.
Foothills growth: I share your concerns about development in the foothills. While the Idaho Legislature does not have planning and development authority over the foothills, we must all work together to assure that as the area grows existing residents are listened to. The development planning must make every reasonable effort to minimize the impact on existing neighbourhoods. The Legislature can and should work to make sure that growth pays its way instead of burdening local communities with unwanted costs.
Annexation: I am a supporter of legislation that would balance the rights of the property owner vs. government. The property owner needs more control over land being considered for annexation. This means that a majority of citizens in the affected area should vote to decide. If annexation is approved, the financial costs need to be reasonable to all citizens.
Good Jobs For Idahoans:
As Senator, Chuck Winder will support policies that will expand business development throughout the state. Chuck is aware that a strong, stable economy will help bring well-paying jobs close to home.

Chuck Winder will hold the government accountable for your child's education. By requiring schools to maintain high standards of excellence while providing children with the best education available, Chuck understands the needs of our families.

As Senator, Chuck Winder will work to protect your gun ownership. He understands your Constitutional rights and will safeguard them.
Water Rights and Energy:
Chuck Winder will work to ensure that Idaho protects its water for farming, business and personal use. He supports the idea of not letting the federal or state government dictate who should use your water.

Chuck Winder is committed to ridding Idaho of the scourge of methamphetamine. He is supporting Governor Otter’s efforts and programs to protect your family from drugs and the crime they cause.

Chuck Winder believes that only legal residents should be able to enjoy the privileges of American citizenship. As Senator, he will work to keep Idaho's borders tight so that illegal aliens will not take advantage of our services.
